Critically acclaimed Marche Moderne makes its move to Newport Coast

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Marché Moderne, one of Orange County’s most renowned restaurants, will soon call Newport Coast its new home.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a celebrated culinary icon such as Marché Moderne to Crystal Cove Shopping Center,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “Marché Moderne’s lauded French cuisine remains in a class all its own, and we can’t wait to see what Chef Florent Marneau and Amelia Marneau have in store for us here in coastal Orange County.”

The Los Angeles Times hailed Marché Moderne as “the best bistro in Southern California” that “serves up some of the best French food in Orange County or Greater Los Angeles.” Food-lovers can continue to savor Chef Florent Marneau’s classic French fare done with his own personal twist, in addition to beautifully delicate confections from his wife, Amelia – who will not only resume her role as pastry chef, but also continue to personally greet guests as they arrive, a longstanding hallmark of Marché Moderne’s gracious hospitality.

The market-inspired menu will offer a taste of France and will likely include signature dishes such as Foie Gras, Coq au Vin and Grilled Octopus, to name a few—along with tempting desserts such as banana cream tarts, housemade macarons and citrus and pineapple beignets. The restaurant will offer a selection of French and California wines as well.

Marché Moderne will be at Crystal Cove Shopping Center, 7862 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Newport Beach.
