A Mermaid’s Tale: Summer Art Installation

We made a splash. The year: 1967.

The logo: A mermaid. Her hair was stylishly sea-swept. Her colorblocked fins cut a striking silhouette. In one glance, she captured our endless-summer attitude.  The Historical Moment: Fashion Island debuted the West Coast’s first indoor-outdoor shopping destination. Sun Soaked. Sea Breezy. We officially turned the retail experience inside-out. 

Fashion Island has always been about escape and 57 years later, we are bringing back our earliest muse, who first departed her fantastical underworld to roam our high-designed paradise in Newport Beach.  We hope she inspires you to uncover the possibilities. To frolic. To shimmer. To linger longer. Ultimately, to transport you to a mermaid state of mind.
